Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Software Engineer to design develop maintain and troubleshoot mission critical financial applications The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in the core IBM Mainframe stack including COBOL JCL VSAM DB2 CICS and CA7 Additionally we are highly interested in candidates who bring domain knowledge of the Automated Clearing House ACH platform and electronic payment processing systems You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability performance and scalability of our payment architectures Key Responsibilities Application Development and Maintenance Design code test and deploy robust mainframe applications using COBOL CICS and DB2 Batch and Online Processing Develop and maintain complex batch processing environments using JCL and schedule monitor them using CA7 Ensure high availability of online transactions via CICS Database Management Query optimize and maintain relational databases DB2 and flat file indexed data structures VSAM Troubleshooting and Support Conduct root cause analysis for production defects abends and performance bottlenecks Provide timely resolutions to minimize system downtime Domain Integration ACH Apply knowledge of ACH payment platforms to support processing routing and settlement applications if applicable Collaboration Work closely with cross functional teams including QA business analysts and product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions Code Quality Ensure all code adheres to secure coding standards best practices and organizational guidelines Required Skills and Qualifications Experience 8 10 years of hands on experience in Mainframe application development and support Core Technologies Expert level proficiency in COBOL Extensive experience with JCL Job Control Language and batch processing Strong background in online transaction processing using CICS Solid database experience with DB2 including SQL optimization and VSAM Proficiency in job scheduling and monitoring using CA7 Tools Familiarity with standard mainframe tools e
