Governance and Compliance Manager
Job description
- Hours: 37 per week (full time)
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: Grade 9 £42,840 - £46,142
- Location: Sheffield (This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
As Governance and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering effective governance and assurance arrangements to enable the Mayor/Deputy Mayor to exercise the statutory duties of a Police and Crime Commissioner. This includes delivery of public meetings where the Chief Constable is held to account by the Deputy Mayor.
You will work closely with South Yorkshire Police’s Senior Command Team, members of the public, solicitors and barristers, legally qualified advisors, members of the Mayor/Deputy Mayor’s independent panels and volunteers. Strong communication and organisation skills are essential.

Postholders are prohibited from standing for elected office (except Town or Parish Councils) and from engaging in certain political activities, including canvassing or acting as an officer of a political party.
