About the Role
As a Senior Engineering Manager – Platform , you will lead the team responsible for building MOVE’s foundational systems—identity, authentication, service discovery, messaging, observability, and more. You’ll be a key driver in setting technical direction, growing platform engineers, and scaling systems that serve millions of users across our travel and fintech products.
Key Responsibilities
•
Own and drive delivery of multiple frontend & backend teams building scalable, high-performance web and mobile applications.
•
Translate product & tech roadmap vision into clear engineering roadmaps and ensure timely, high-quality execution.
•
Build and scale strong frontend engineering teams through hiring, mentorship, and career development.
•
Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end customer experiences.
•
Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, architecture reviews, and tech debt management.
•
Drive continuous improvement in developer velocity, operational excellence, and platform stability.
•
Align with leadership on business priorities, technical strategy, and long-term technology investments.
•
Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation, and customer-centric engineering.
Required Qualifications
•
10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in engineering leadership roles.
•
Proven leadership of backend/platform teams delivering large-scale, high-traffic applications.
•
Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture (GCP/AWS/Azure), microservices, and data platforms.
•
Proven experience designing resilient, scalable, and secure platforms at enterprise scale.
•
Hands-on understanding of cloud platforms (GCP), Kubernetes, and observability frameworks.
•
Strong leadership in system design, architecture reviews, and cross-team technical governance.
•
Prior Hands-on expertise in full-stack development, API design, data modeling, and infrastructure-as-code.
•
Familiarity with platform domains like Auth, Notifications, Payments, Order Management, Developer Tooling.
•
Strong technical background in modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, etc.) with ability to guide architectural decisions.
•
Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and observability.
•
Strong stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing skills.
•
Track record of driving engineering excellence, career development, and cross-team influence.
•
Exposure to multi-tenant systems, service mesh, or API governance frameworks.
•
Startup experience is strongly preferred
