Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Position Summary
The Compensation & Benefits Manager is responsible for leading the administration, and continuous improvement of the organization’s compensation, benefits, and payroll processes and vendor relationships. This role serves as the organization’s subject matter expert for total rewards and HRIS operations, with a strong focus on vendor management, UKG administration, compliance, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate brings a strategic and analytical approach to compensation and benefits while also maintaining strong operational oversight of payroll processes, third-party vendor relationships, and HR technology platforms. This position partners closely with HR leadership, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to ensure competitive, compliant, and employee-focused total rewards programs.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation & Total Rewards
- Lead the administration and execution of compensation programs including annual merit planning, incentive programs, salary reviews, and bonus cycles.
- Conduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses using compensation surveys and industry data to ensure competitive pay practices.
- Develop, maintain, and administer salary structures, pay ranges, job classifications, and compensation frameworks.
- Lead the development and maintenance of global job grading, leveling, and salary banding frameworks to support organizational consistency, career progression, internal equity, and market competitiveness across multiple regions and business entities.
- Partner with leadership on compensation recommendations related to hiring, promotions, organizational changes, and retention strategies.
- Prepare compensation reporting, analytics, and presentations for executive leadership.
Benefits Administration & Vendor Management
- Manage all employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, wellness, leave programs, and voluntary benefits.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for third-party benefits administrators, brokers, and payroll providers.
- Oversee vendor performance, contract compliance, escalations, service delivery, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Partner with brokers and vendors to evaluate plan performance, cost management strategies, and employee experience enhancements.
- Lead annual open enrollment planning, employee communications, vendor coordination, and system configuration activities.
- Ensure accurate integration and administration across multiple benefit and payroll platforms.
Payroll & HRIS Administration
- Oversee payroll administration processes in partnership with third-party payroll providers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for UKG, including system administration, reporting, troubleshooting, testing, and process optimization.
- Manage HRIS data integrity, audits, workflows, and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to improve system functionality, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to compensation, benefits, and payroll, including FLSA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and pay transparency regulations.
- Support audits, filings, reporting requirements, and vendor compliance reviews.
- Monitor industry trends, legislative updates, and best practices related to total rewards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, payroll, HRIS, or total rewards management.
- Strong hands-on experience administering UKG and managing HRIS platforms in a multi-state environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing third-party vendors including benefits providers, brokers, payroll vendors, and HR technology partners.
- Strong knowledge of compensation structures, salary benchmarking, benefits administration, payroll processes, and employment laws.
- Advanced Excel skills including reporting, analytics, data modeling, and reconciliation.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operations environments preferred.
- Experience with HRIS implementations, system integrations, or vendor transitions preferred.
