Beca
MEP BIM Developer
Job description
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced BIM Developer (Building Services) to join our Building Services team in Singapore and become part of a network of over 400 Building Services Engineers across the Asia Pacific. Work with diverse clients on various projects, enhancing your technical skills. Be part of a motivated team in a supportive culture that values your contributions. We offer numerous technical and leadership challenges to help you grow professionally.
The BIM Developer reports to the BIM Lead and sits within the wider Building Services group, which spans more than 400 engineers across Asia Pacific. The role is designed to operate with a high degree of autonomy, identifying problems, proposing solutions, and delivering them with minimal direction.
Beca invests in the platforms, infrastructure, and time required to do the work well. Solutions developed in this role will typically be deployed within the immediate team first, then rolled out more broadly across the region once proven.
This role is deliberately positioned for the next generation of digital delivery, where AI-assisted development is integral to how engineers build and ship internal tools. The successful candidate will be expected to work fluently alongside these capabilities and to help the wider team adopt them well.
About You
You bring several years of construction delivery experience, ideally in MEP, although Structural or Architectural backgrounds are equally welcome. You understand how real projects are delivered, where time is lost, and where automation can have the greatest impact. That domain knowledge is the foundation on which the development work is built.
You are also a capable developer. While not at the level of a career software engineer, you are comfortable designing, building, and releasing working tools. Python, C# / .NET, or strong Dynamo capability are all valid starting points, and most of the team’s work touches at least two of them.
You take a product-oriented approach to tool development: scoping for adoption, documenting clearly, and iterating based on how the work is actually used in practice.
You are also actively engaged with the rapid evolution of software development practice, including the use of AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Codex. You recognise these tools as a fundamental shift in how software is built, and you are comfortable using them as part of a modern development workflow.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for:
Design, develop, and maintain internal tools, plugins, and automations for Revit, Dynamo, Forma, and related platforms
Develop data pipelines and integrations between BIM models, project databases, and external systems
Identify inefficiencies in current project workflows and translate them into reusable, scalable solutions
Own the tools you build through their full lifecycle, including release, support, performance, and retirement
Write clean, version-controlled, and well-documented code aligned with sound software engineering practice
Collaborate with engineers and BIM teams to scope requirements, agree solutions, and support rollout
Contribute to the development of equipment libraries, content standards, and structured project data
Support adoption through clear documentation, user guidance, and training where required
Understand and adhere to the Beca values
Act in accordance with industry and professional ethics, maintaining professionalism at all times
Ensure contribution and effort is aligned with organisational objectives
Comply with all company HSE systems and procedures relevant to the role
Participate in performance development discussions and maintain all CPD requirements
Work co-operatively and collaboratively, accepting a fair share of workload and supporting others when required
Other duties as directed
Key requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience in BIM, digital engineering, or project delivery in the built environment (MEP preferred)
Working proficiency in at least one of: Python, C# / .NET, or Dynamo at an advanced level
Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and its application on multidisciplinary projects
Practical experience with APIs, parameters, and structured model data
Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural), Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field
Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently across multiple initiatives
Working familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex) and an understanding of how they are reshaping software development practice
Desirable Skills
Experience developing Revit add-ins or standalone applications
Exposure to Autodesk Platform Services (APS / Forge) or Autodesk Forma
Familiarity with databases (SQL or similar) and structured data management
Experience with Git or other version control systems
Cloud platform experience (Azure preferred)
Programming certifications or formal software engineering training
Familiarity with Singapore codes, standards, or Corenet X submission workflows
MEP-focused project experience, including detailed design or fabrication models
