MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
- The position provides strategic leadership and management oversight for driving operational performance results in the procurement of Cardiac Rhythm Management Third Party Manufactured (TPM) products, performance of the US service center and coordination with OUS service centers.
- Plan, direct, and monitor all purchasing activities so that the goods, materials, supplies, and services the organization buys meet its standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
- Lead and manage the Service center that supports US, Asia and LATAM Programmer and transmitter refurbishment. Responsible for entire service center operations including complaint handling, refurbishment, management of end of life, working with R&D and division engineering on new accessories that get launched and ensure refurbishment process and inputs are considered. The Service Center Value stream has a range of 20-30 employees and distributes products around the world.
- Responsible for all performance metrics including safety, people, quality, cost, delivery and other as defined.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide the strategic leadership for driving operational and financial performance results in the implementation and procurement of Abbott products at TPMs.
- Lead the Sylmar Service Center operations including planning, material purchasing, refurbishment processes, quality, attainment, and regulatory compliance.
- Develops and prioritizes TPM department strategic goals and objectives, measures performance, and implement corrective actions.
- Establish and manage a process for collaboration with TPM suppliers for the execution of supply, logistics, QA, label control, cost reduction, and business processes/systems for operations with key TPMs in order to assure continuity of supply to the markets.
- Working with the cross-functional organization, collaborate on new product introduction for TPM suppliers and Service Center operations to ensure product launches are execute on time and meet supply, quality and cost objectives.
- Ensure readiness of global sustaining change processes are implemented to maintain supply of new products in addition to existing products.
- Assure line of communication with Senior Leaders on critical delivery issues that may result in potential business interruption.
- Accountable to establish and maintain effective cross-functional communication and working relationships with commercial, quality, supply chain, legal, global service centers, procurement, finance, R&D, regulatory functions.
- Ensuring and maintaining the department budget and delivering on forecasted savings programs.
- Assure staffing and leadership continuity through talent management succession planning and development moves. Create a diverse organization and encourage diversity within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level Major/Field of Study
Bachelors Degree (±16 years) in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline.
Experience Details
Minimum 10+ years Relevant experience in a regulated life science environment.
Related experience in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or purchasing
Procurement experience with Third party manufacturers highly preferred.
A proven track record of increasing management/leadership responsibilities of which three (3) years must be at a manager level or higher.

The base pay for this position is
$148,700.00 – $297,300.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
