About Your Role

The Field Supervisor – HVAC Technician supports facility condition assessments by identifying, evaluating, and documenting HVAC and other building system components across District sites. Working closely with construction management teams, facility staff, and fellow trade specialists, this role plays a critical part in collecting accurate building data that supports capital planning, maintenance strategies, and facility improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will utilize extensive construction and HVAC knowledge to assess existing building systems, determine their overall condition and remaining service life, maintain accurate electronic records, and support field survey activities while ensuring consistency with District standards.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Candidates without a bachelor's degree must possess at least 10 years of relevant professional experience. Four years of qualifying experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis.

What You'll Need to Get the Job Done

  • Six (6) or more years of full-time paid professional experience supporting on-site construction management teams while coordinating with campus administrators, faculty, and staff.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct facility condition assessments by identifying and documenting HVAC and related building system components installed throughout District facilities.
  • Collect and accurately enter field data using tablets, laptops, smartphones, and other electronic data collection platforms.
  • Utilize construction knowledge to identify concealed building systems and verify existing conditions.
  • Evaluate the overall condition and remaining service life (RSL) of HVAC and building system components in accordance with District standards and guidance.
  • Collaborate with other trade surveyors to collect measurements, quantities, and supporting facility information.
  • Participate in special facility surveys and assessments as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation and support quality control of collected assessment data.
  • Coordinate with construction management teams, District personnel, and project stakeholders throughout field activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and serve as a resource for survey staff as needed.
  • Supervise field personnel and survey participants when assigned.
  • Perform additional field assessment and facility support duties as assigned.

Salary

$117,000–$124,000 annually
