Lead Engineer, Water

What you’ll do
As a Lead Engineer, Water in our Transport, Water, Environment and Land team, based in Perth, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind. You will:
Lead the development of water and civil designs for complex multi-disciplinary water projects, including concept design, detailed design, and construction / commissioning support.
Contribute to strategic and conceptual planning investigations to identify innovative and sustainable solutions.
Planning, design and coordination of overland piping systems for water and wastewater, pump stations, water distribution networks and treatment plants.
Civil design of infrastructure including earthworks, concrete structures, access roads, and drainage systems as part of enabling for water infrastructure designs.
Oversee the development of Hydraulics and water balance calculations and models
Oversee the preparation of detailed drawings, models, and specifications using design tools such as Water Gems, Sewer GEMS, Civil 3D, 12D, Open plant, AutoCAD, QGIS, Microstation.
Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. mechanical, process, electrical, structural) to ensure integrated and constructible designs, contributing to cost-effective and sustainable solutions
Work within study and project teams to set and meet scope requirements and ensure time and budget objectives are achieved
Engage and build positive relationships with existing and potential clients and stakeholders, support business development and tenders to win and deliver work for Aurecon,
Produce written reports, documents and presentations to explain engineering ideas and concepts.
Technical input during planning and feasibility stages, including constructability reviews, material selection, and cost estimates.
Support during tender and construction phase, including site inspections, responding to queries, and ensuring designs are implemented correctly.
Input to pricing and proposal development, with the ability to coordinate and lead multiple teams for input.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in, Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering (or a related discipline).
10+ years industry experience.
Strong experience working in a consultancy environment, with a strong understanding of project delivery, client interaction, and commercial awareness.
Project experience (suited to your career status) at all phases of a project's life cycle and particularly concept design, feasibility studies, infrastructure studies, technical management and Design Management.
Design experience for water infrastructure.
Willingness to apply technical skills to all facets of engineering consultancy which may include design, leadership, management, client relationship management and work winning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey civil engineering outcomes with suitable language that can be understood by clients, stakeholders and other engineering disciplines
Solid time management and organisational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders and produce quality reports.
Desire to contribute, grow and develop the capability and experience of the water team whilst progressing your own career development.
