Job Description Summary

For Grid Solutions, Offshore HVDC represents a key differentiating technology and a central focus for the business, particularly in Europe where Transmission System Operators have very ambitious renewable energy targets.

In that context and for Germany, Grid Solutions is partnering with our customers, which plans to invest in deploying new HVDC converter stations to bring Offshore Wind energy into Germany and the Netherlands.

In this context, Grid Solutions is looking for a Project Manager who will oversee the packages related to Spare Parts & Customer Training part of a portfolio of several mega HVDC projects in Germany.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

Spare parts:

  • Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of spare parts inventory, procurement, and distribution within the project portfolio. The primary objective is to fulfill the customer’s requirement with regards to spare parts as well as to ensure timely availability of those for a successful Reliability, Availability & Maintenance period. You will define a wing-to-wing strategy from spare parts list definition (for customer, for construction & commissioning etc.) until handing-over.
  • Coordinate with RAM team and get all relevant documents/informations.
  • Responsible for preparing overarching spare parts lists that strictly adhere to contract requirements for both commissioning and ongoing operations.
  • Coordinate with sourcing/procurement to define required spare parts for each purchase order.
  • Prepare RfQ’s and follow up until handover to customer including all relevant clarifications on packing, delivery, custom clearance.
  • Lead handover procedure to customer.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across GE units and suppliers. Resolving issues and conflicting requirements in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the spare parts store, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize shortages.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely replenishment of stock and negotiate favorable terms. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, creating a secure environment for both staff and customers.

 Training:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the delivery of the customer’s requirements with regards to training programs. This role involves collaborating with various departments to identify training needs, developing curriculum, and ensuring that customer receives effective and relevant training to meet organizational goals, as per the contracts.

Other packages

  • Depending on the need, you provide project management support on related packages such as storage, customs & logistics etc.

Qualifications / Requirements: 

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar directions from an accredited university or college or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven experience in project management. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in T&D, Power, or Renewable Energy, but if you have transferable skills from another industry, we encourage you to apply.
  • You excel at managing multiple workstreams and find satisfaction in bringing structure to complex projects.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships and communicate clearly across all project levels.
  • results-oriented, motivated by achieving shared goals, and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments where no two days are the same.
  • You have a solid grasp of financial concepts, including budgeting and expense management.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for this role. While German language skills are a bonus, they are not a requirement.
