About this Role – Construction Manager / Project Delivery (Norway)
This role will be based in Norway, supporting the delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects across sectors including data centres, energy, and large-scale commercial developments.
The position involves direct management of General Contractors, coordination with subcontractors, close monitoring of project progress, and regular reporting to senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical construction expertise, particularly with experience in either MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) or CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) disciplines, alongside contract administration knowledge and excellent organisational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee General Contractor performance from project inception through to completion, ensuring quality, programme adherence, and compliance with contractual obligations
- Ensure health & safety compliance in line with Norwegian regulations and client standards, maintaining safe working environments across all project sites
- Work closely with site teams to uphold quality and H&S standards and deliver projects to industry-leading benchmarks
- Provide input during feasibility and early design stages, influencing design to ensure buildability, efficiency, and technical robustness (particularly across MEP or CSA scopes)
- Develop and manage construction programmes aligned with client objectives, including oversight of current and future project pipelines
- Apply strong construction and buildability knowledge to enhance project outcomes at both pre- and post-contract stages
- Coordinate effectively with General Contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners (including MEP and CSA contractors) to ensure collaboration and mitigate programme risks
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and contractors to deliver projects on time and to required quality standards
- Provide regular progress updates to client leadership, identifying risks and proposing practical solutions
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, reporting incidents and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and reporting
- Track project schedules, identify critical path activities, and manage long-lead items to maintain programme delivery
- Oversee post-contract activities, ensuring timely completion of snagging, handover documentation, and certifications
- Lead and coordinate design consultants and specialist contractors during the construction phase
- Promote best practice, continuous improvement, and a proactive approach across project teams
- Ensure all activities are delivered in line with Soben and client-specific processes
- Collaborate closely with the QS/commercial team throughout procurement, construction, and post-contract phases
- Attend and contribute to project review meetings, providing detailed updates to stakeholders
About You
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in construction, engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in construction management or project delivery roles on complex or large-scale projects
- Strong experience in either MEP or CSA disciplines is essential
- Experience working within Norway or the Nordic region is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contract administration, and supply chain coordination
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a flexible and practical approach
