The Department of Chemistry in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking a Lecturer for Fall 2026 semester to teach one section of CHEM 1780.
Lecturers provide effective learning for students as scholarly teachers. Responsibility is for Chem 1780 including as instructor for the course, addressing student learning and issues, assessing student progress through exams and other metrics, providing guidance to teaching assistant for grading and other duties.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
PhD degree in Chemistry or related area
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience as the instructor of record in general chemistry at the university level
Experience managing teaching assistants for a general chemistry course
