High School Occupational Therapist (Full-Time)
Location: Brooklyn, NY Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at a boys' high school. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students develop the functional, sensory, motor, and executive functioning skills needed to succeed academically and independently. This is a full-time, school-based position that works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for high school students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students' needs.
- Provide individual and small-group occupational therapy services.
- Support students in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory regulation, self-advocacy, executive functioning, and daily living skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to recommend classroom accommodations and strategies that promote student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and accommodations.
- Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs in compliance with state and school requirements.
- Communicate effectively with families and school staff regarding student progress.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current New York State Occupational Therapist license.
- NBCOT certification preferred.
- Experience working with adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
