ABOUT US
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
About the Role
Salvation Army Housing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to support our quality, compliance, and risk obligations across community housing operations.
Reporting to the National Quality, Compliance, Risk & Policy Coordinator (QCRP), this role is central to ensuring SAH meets all regulatory, contractual, and accreditation requirements at both state and national levels. You will play a hands-on role in maintaining compliance systems, supporting audits, managing reporting cycles, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Coordinate and deliver accurate, timely regulatory and contractual reporting across jurisdictions, including data collection, validation, reconciliation, and preparation of reports, while supporting audits, reviews, and registration processes and ensuring consistency in reporting practices
- Quality Management System (QMS) Administration: Maintain and administer the QMS and Quality Improvement Register (QIR), supporting system improvements, staff usage, reporting, and alignment with regulatory and organisational requirements
- Risk & Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and maintain risk, compliance, incident, and complaint registers; analyse trends and emerging risks; support property compliance oversight; and track, escalate, and close corrective and preventive actions
- Data Integrity & Governance: Ensure compliance data is accurate, complete, and consistent by applying governance standards, monitoring data quality, resolving integrity issues through root cause analysis, and improving data tools and reporting frameworks
- Data Analysis: Analyse operational and compliance data to identify trends, risks, and performance insights, producing dashboards and reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, regulators, and external partners, providing guidance on compliance requirements and acting as a trusted point of contact for compliance-related matters
About You
You are a detail-oriented and proactive compliance professional who thrives in a data-driven environment. With a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management, you are confident translating compliance requirements into practical processes that support operational teams.
Key capabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in compliance, risk, or quality within regulated sectors (e.g. community housing, aged care, NDIS)
- Strong understanding of regulatory reporting, governance, and audit processes
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and validate complex data
