What’s this role actually about?
We need a seasoned, high-energy sales professional who loves being on the phones to ensure these events are packed with the industry's finest and is an expert in Account-Based Marketing (ABM) . This isn't about making hundreds of random cold calls; it's about deeply understanding big target accounts, mapping out decision-makers, and running smart, highly targeted campaigns.
This is a hands-on telemarketing role where you will be driving campaigns, making calls daily, and doing what it takes to hit our big volume goals and annual targets. Because you’ll be mainly represent marcomms brands, you need the confidence, charisma, and gravitas to talk to senior professionals across the media, advertising, and creative sectors (think agency bosses, top creatives, and brand CMOs).
While you won't have direct reports, you will be a vital senior anchor for the brands. You will work closely and collaboratively alongside our existing delegate sales executives, who will also own their own portfolios. Crucially, you will be the Marketing Director’s eyes and ears on the ground, reporting back clearly and efficiently on what’s happening on the phones, predicting final numbers, and working directly with the Marketing Director and Group Marketing Manager to ensure we are getting the absolute best out of our data.
Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
•
Hitting the phones & driving volume: This is a proactive, phone-heavy role. You’ll make calls daily, build relationships, and push hard to meet our overall volume goals and revenue targets across the portfolio.
•
Engaging the creative industries: You’ll speak directly with leaders across the media, advertising, and creative sectors, using an Account-Based Marketing (ABM) approach to secure high-value delegates and award entries.
•
Forecasting and predicting: You’ll take a structured approach to the numbers. You’ll report, forecast, and predict exactly where entries and delegate sales will land for specific events, giving the Marketing Director a clear, accurate view of performance.
•
Data collaboration: You’ll work with the Marketing Director and Group Marketing Manager to dive into our data, ensuring we target the right accounts, clean lists, and maximise every lead opportunity.
•
Teamwork: You’ll work hand-in-hand with our existing delegate sales executives, sharing market insights and collaborating to ensure the whole portfolio succeeds.
•
Flagging wins and risks: We value transparent, efficient reporting. You’ll be expected to flag structural concerns or campaign risks early on, just as much as you celebrate the big wins.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria
This role handles our largest, most high-profile brand portfolio and involves heavy forecasting and strategic data work with senior management. Because of this, it is not suited for junior executives looking for a step up; we need an established professional who already has deep industry experience.
•
You love the buzz of the chase: You have 4–5 years of B2B delegate sales experience and genuinely enjoy picking up the phone, building rapport, and closing deals.
•
You know the media/creative landscape: You understand (or have a strong passion for) the media, advertising, and creative sectors, and you can speak to agency leaders and brand marketers confidently.
•
You’re an ABM and data enthusiast: You don’t just dial blindly. You understand Account-Based Marketing, and you're excited to work with the Group Marketing Manager to squeeze the highest value out of our data.
•
You’re a master of forecasting: You can read sales trends, spot gaps in a campaign early, and accurately predict final numbers weeks out from an event.
•
You’re a straight talker: You report back clearly, efficiently, and honestly about what is actually happening on the ground.
