Job Description

As a Security Officer - Driver Patrol - Full Time in Rockford, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, offering the opportunity to support daily operations with agility and reliability while working as part of a caring, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service to visitors, associates, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and assist with loss prevention awareness by reporting suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or unauthorized access.
  • Support opening and closing activities, assist with crowd and line management during busy periods, and provide visible presence throughout the location to help to deter disruptions.

Minimum Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
