Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Physician Contract Specialist Lead, you will strategically manage physician contracts, expanding patient access and supporting our non-profit mission of quality healthcare delivery. This leadership role demands expertise in physician relationship management and regulatory compliance for sustainable partnerships.
Every day you will oversee the full lifecycle of contractual agreements with physicians and groups, from development and negotiation to implementation and ongoing management. You'll ensure regulatory compliance and foster collaborative relationships that enhance our health outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in healthcare contract management and negotiation, alongside excellent analytical and communication skills. Your ability to navigate complex agreements and support our mission through impactful physician partnerships is key.
- Structure contracts in alignment with organizational goals, fair market value (FMV), and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all arrangements comply with applicable laws and regulations, including Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and IRS guidelines for non-profit entities.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure contract integrity and risk mitigation.
- Proactively manage the lifecycle of contracts including renewals, expirations, terminations, holdovers, etc.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with physician partners.
- Serve as the liaison between the FMV team, legal, compliance and the hospital leadership teams and independent physicians within the assigned region.
Job Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- Five (5) to eight (8) + years of experience in healthcare contracting, physician relations, or managed care.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements (Stark, Anti-Kickback, FMV principles).
- Proven contract management skills.
- Financial acumen, including compensation modeling and ROI analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with contract management and CRM systems.
Preferred
- Experience working with independent physician arrangements.
- Experience in a non-profit healthcare system.
