The Coordinator, Community Giving builds and strengthens relationships with community organizations, corporations, foundations, and other referral sources to expand volunteer, ambassador, and donor engagement in support of Goodwill's mission. This role coordinates stewardship and engagement activities, supports sponsorship and event participation efforts, and helps identify meaningful opportunities to cultivate community partnerships and community giving across the Commonwealth.
Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Essential Duties and Tasks
A. Engage and solicit giving opportunities that align with Goodwill's mission and interests through existing relationships with foundations, corporations, and other prospective ambassadors/donor referral sources.
- B. Assist with identifying and soliciting community giving prospects including foundations, corporations, and highly engaged individuals.
- C. Regularly travel across commonwealth to meet with prospective donors which include, but not limited to, previous donors, volunteers, staff, vendors, partners, customers, and former clients.
- D. Assist with Goodwill community giving/engagement events including but not limited to annual golf scramble, goodwill giving challenge, ambassador events, corporate volunteer days, and the appreciation breakfast.
- E. Assist in stewardship and reporting processes, including preparation of thank you notes, gift acknowledgements, formal impact reports, and internal data entry.
- F. Performs other duties as assigned.
- This role does not have supervisory responsibility.
Physical Demands
- A. Must have strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including excellent grammar and spelling.
- B. Must be detail-oriented for accuracy and uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
- C. Must be well organized with the ability to plan, coordinate work efficiently and set priorities.
- D. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- E. Must have valid driver's license and insurance and acceptable driving record.
- F. Travel across the state and to other locations beyond the assigned work location is frequently required, occasionally overnight.
- G. Must possess versatility, discretion and excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with a variety of diverse people in a professional and empathetic manner.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma (college degree preferred)
- Must have proficient PC skills with Microsoft Office programs.
- This job may have physical requirements that are considered light work. Physical demand requirements are more than those for sedentary work. Sedentary work involves s itting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Light work includes lifting up to 20lbs occasionally and/or up to 10lbs frequently.
- Travel to multiple locations across the entire state beyond the assigned work location is occasionally required.
