Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform EEG tests on inpatients and outpatients, including bedside and neonates in the nursery.
  • Prepares patient for EEG or EKG test, including giving instructions to make the test effective, applying electrodes, and affixing to appropriate body position.
  • Prepares EKG tracing and looks up any previous patients' records for cardiologist review.
  • Maintains daily ledger of EEG/EKG tests given.
  • Explains the procedure to the patient and obtain patient's history for the exam.
  • Assists neurologist with EEG/EMG procedures.
  • Plans and organizes work, defines assignments, and carries out assignments effectively.
  • Performs clerical duties and other duties, as needed

Qualifications

  • Associates degree - EEG Certification program
  • 1 -3 Years of experience is highly desired
  • EEG Certification is required
  • CPR Certification (BLS)
  • EKC Certification highly desirable
