Position Overview : We are seeking a client-focused and detail-oriented Benefit Advocate to join our Employee Benefits team. This role serves as a primary resource for clients and their employees by providing responsive support, resolving benefits-related inquiries, and assisting with the administration of employee benefit plans. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service while navigating a fast-paced environment. This position plays a key role in supporting client satisfaction, employee engagement, and the successful administration of employee benefits programs.

Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position (4 days in office and 1 day remote) reporting to our office in Atlanta, GA.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and professional support regarding benefit plans, coverage, eligibility, and enrollment.
  • Document all client and employee interactions within the agency CRM, including issues, follow-up activities, action items, and case resolutions.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, employees, insurance carriers, and vendors to resolve claims issues, assist with appeals, coordinate prior authorizations, process ID card requests, and conduct provider network searches.
  • Process employee enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, and other eligibility changes while maintaining accurate records across carrier and agency systems.
  • Assist Benefit Consultants with preparing and distributing federal compliance notices and other required employee communications.
  • Coordinate open enrollment audit activities, including invoice reconciliation, eligibility reviews, ongoing change management, and communication of finalized audit results to client HR representatives.
  • Review stewardship reports to identify trends, recurring employee concerns, and opportunities to improve the client experience.
  • Initiate and manage carrier online access for new and transitioning clients while maintaining accurate system documentation.
  • Prepare stewardship reports, client materials, and supporting documentation for client meetings and account reviews.
  • Issue updated employee ID cards and support post-open enrollment administrative activities.
  • Collaborate with internal Account Management, Benefit Consulting, and Service teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Stay current on employee benefits regulations, carrier requirements, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in employee benefits insurance, employee benefits administration, Human Resources, or a related client service role preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Georgia Life & Health insurance license required or the ability to obtain shortly after hire.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits plans, insurance products, eligibility, enrollment processes, and applicable regulations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to provide empathetic, professional support while resolving complex employee benefit issues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, clients, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, carrier partners, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the employee benefits industry.
