Job Summary
As a Software Development Engineer for the NetApp Core Engineering Group, you will be part of a product development team responsible for building the next generation Software Defined Storage solutions. You will work with a group of talented software engineers focused on delivering the best-in-class enterprise storage products. You will work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software with an eye towards simplicity, reliability, and manageability.
- Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Create technical content to demonstrate best practices (e.g. documentation, videos, etc.).
- Work closely with senior technical leaders to drive architecture and design.
- Participate in the feature enhancements and maintenance of existing systems.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience (design, implementation, automation)
- Proficient with Python or Go plus one or more of Java, C++, C
- Experience with containers, orchestrators like Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and Artifactory
- Experience with distributed systems, microservice architecture, orchestration (Ansible), and scripting.
- Linux system administration (e.g. systemd) and networking (e.g. networkd, networkmanager, ip)
- Knowledge of software engineering practices and software design principles.
- Good written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Agile Software Development practices.
- Experience with RHEL OS and SELinux
- Working knowledge of Apache Zookeeper or similar technology
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

If the Company determines this role will be performed in Colorado, the starting salary for this position is [[cust_CO_Salary_Text]]. This role could be eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), Company bonus, and Employee stock purchase plan *. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors such as location, qualifications, certifications, relevant work experience and other factors, consistent with applicable law.
