About Our Family
We are an active, on-the-go family of five based in Westport, looking for an exceptional House Manager who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves creating order amidst the beautiful chaos of family life. With two working parents in demanding, creative careers and three energetic, sports-obsessed boys, our days are busy, ever-changing, and full of moving parts.
We already have great support in place—a housekeeper, a remote Executive Assistant, and some part-time childcare—but what we've been missing is the person who ties it all together. We need someone who doesn't just help, but truly owns the role from start to finish. Someone who keeps projects moving, manages the details, anticipates needs, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Our boys are high-energy, funny, and deeply loved. We value outdoor play, independence, and a screen-free childhood. The right person genuinely enjoys children, can confidently step into childcare when needed, and naturally balances warmth with structure. Whether it's helping with after-school routines, involving the boys in age-appropriate tasks, or simply being a calm, steady presence, you'll become an important part of our family's rhythm.
Our schedule changes often—sports, school events, travel, NYC day trips, and last-minute shifts are simply part of life. We're looking for someone who doesn't just adapt to change, but anticipates it. Meal planning, organizing calendars, staying on top of school and sports communications, managing appointments, keeping the home organized, and seeing projects through to completion are all central to this role.
Throughout ski season and occasional international travel, you'll confidently manage our home base, coordinate vendors, maintain organization, and ensure everything is ready for our return.
Above all, we're looking for someone with a true ownership mentality—a proactive, adaptable, solutions-oriented House Manager who enjoys bringing calm to busy households. You're highly organized, naturally think several steps ahead, and take genuine pride in making life easier for the family you support.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You have an Executive Assistant's brain and a House Manager's hands. You walk into a room and immediately know what needs to happen—not because someone told you, but because you naturally notice. You're highly organized, self-directed, and take true ownership. When something lands on your plate, you see it through from start to finish. You don't leave projects half-finished or create more work for someone else—you genuinely enjoy taking things completely off a family's plate.
You think like a project manager. You anticipate needs, stay several steps ahead, and thrive in an environment where priorities shift daily. Changing schedules, sports logistics, travel, school communications, and household projects don't overwhelm you—they're simply yours to manage. You bring solutions, not problems, and confidently keep everything moving without constant direction or check-ins.
With the children, you're warm, confident, and naturally authoritative. You genuinely enjoy kids, understand their big personalities and emotions, and know how to balance fun with structure. You're comfortable setting boundaries with kindness, stepping into childcare when needed, and encouraging independence by involving the boys in age-appropriate responsibilities. You can easily channel a little Mary Poppins when the moment calls for it.
You also understand that your best work often happens behind the scenes, with a light footprint. You communicate clearly and efficiently. You don't need to fill silence, and you don't require constant check-ins. You move through the home like a professional: present, capable, and unobtrusive. You're calm, professional, and quietly make life easier simply because you're thinking ahead.
Above all, you take pride in owning the details. Whether it's managing intertwined family calendars, tracking school and sports communications, coordinating projects, or ensuring nothing falls through the cracks, you understand that a well-run household isn't about checking boxes—it's about creating a home that feels calm, organized, and effortlessly supported.
