Job description

Vidoori is a digital transformation leader recognised for delivering excellence in cloud and software solutions. We are expanding our engineering assurance capability and seek a motivated, hands‑on Mid Level Automation Tester to join our team. This role focuses on delivering high‑quality automated testing across products and platforms, contributing to test strategy and automation within squads, and collaborating closely with engineers, product and design in an inclusive environment that values continuous learning and pragmatic improvement.

Role Overview – Mid Level Automation Tester

Reporting to engineering or quality leads, the Mid Level Automation Tester will be an integral member of one or more product squads or platform teams. This role combines hands‑on test automation development, exploratory and acceptance testing, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure delivery of reliable, maintainable systems. You will design, implement and maintain automated test artefacts, champion testability and help embed quality practices across the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities – Automate, Test and Collaborate

Design, develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, integration and end‑to‑end scenarios to provide fast, reliable feedback on changes.

Create and execute manual test cases where automation is not appropriate, including focused exploratory testing and acceptance testing aligned to requirements.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so checks run reliably as part of builds and deployments and produce actionable feedback for engineers and product owners.

Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to refine acceptance criteria, define test scenarios and ensure work is delivered in testable increments.

Drive practices that reduce flakiness and increase reliability: test data management, environment stability and deterministic test design.

Investigate, reproduce and triage defects; report clear, prioritised bug reports and work with engineers to identify and resolve root causes.

Contribute to observability of test outcomes: implement dashboards, alerts and metrics that inform the team’s quality posture and release readiness.

Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to increase automated coverage, reduce cycle time and improve overall test effectiveness.

Participate in squad activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning and retrospectives to help shape quality outcomes and delivery trade‑offs.

Essential Skills and Experience – Automation Competence

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.

Proven experience (typically 3–5 years) in software testing, quality assurance or SDET work within agile delivery teams with a focus on automation.

Hands‑on experience with automation frameworks and tools (for example: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, REST‑assured, JUnit, pytest) and a track record of writing reliable automated checks.

Practical scripting or programming skills in one or more languages common to our stack (for example: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#) to develop and maintain automation codebases.

Experience with source control (Git), CI/CD tooling and integrating tests into automated build and release processes.

Good understanding of test design techniques, risk‑based testing and non‑functional testing (performance, security, accessibility) and pragmatic approaches to test data management.

Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerised services and experience testing microservices or distributed systems.

Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to explain test findings, trade‑offs and technical risks to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Commitment to producing clear engineering artefacts: automated test code, test plans, runbooks and concise bug reports.

Desirable Skills – Extended Capability

Experience with performance, load or security testing tools and practices.

Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools to correlate test failures with runtime behaviour and support faster diagnosis.

Experience in regulated or security‑sensitive environments (public sector or similar) is advantageous.

Knowledge of test management or reporting tools and a track record of improving test efficiency and reliability.

Professional certifications in testing (for example ISTQB) or relevant cloud/security certifications are beneficial.

Benefits and Career Development – Growth at Vidoori

Competitive salary with performance‑related bonus and incentives aligned to delivery and quality outcomes.

Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options to support a healthy work–life balance.

Supportive and inclusive culture with investment in professional development, training and mentorship opportunities.

Clear progression into senior testing, SDET or engineering roles with exposure to varied projects.

Work on impactful projects across public sector and commercial clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
