The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, and support of enterprise IT infrastructure in a healthcare environment. This role leads the delivery and optimization of highly available systems supporting clinical and business applications, ensuring performance, security, and compliance with healthcare standards. This role will serve as a technical lead for core infrastructure initiatives, partnering with security, application, and clinical teams to deliver reliable end-user computing solutions.

This is a full-time position based at our corporate office located in Woodbury, MN. Standard business hours, Monday - Friday Schedule with occasional work-from-home opportunity. This role will also involve occasional on-call coverage with flexibility to float to other Summit locations as needed.

Primary responsibilities

  • Assists in the design, implementation, and support of servers and systems used in both the office and clinical environments.
  • Acts as an escalation point for tech support staff or others on various hardware and software issues.
  • Assists in the implementation and administration of virtualization technologies and servers running Citrix and/or VMware.
  • Participates in backup and maintenance of server hardware and software in an enterprise environment.
  • Assists in the design of current server and storage systems.
  • Helps develop and maintain documentation that will be shared with other team members.
  • Works with other cross functional teams in the design and re-design of systems to fulfill the needs of the business.
  • Formulates business systems architecture plans, estimates costs, and ensures projects meet strategic needs.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all confidentiality requirements related to assigned healthcare business activities and management of patient medical records, including but not limited to compliance and HIPAA regulations.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all safety requirements and practices related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Capable of relating to diverse age, demographic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of Citrix (Virtual Apps, VDI, NetScaler, Storefront, profile management, monitoring and general performance.
  • Strong IT infrastructure experience.
  • Microsoft Windows server domain administration.
  • Experience with active directory including group policy.
  • Advanced Powershell scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Backup and recovery experience utilizing enterprise level tools.
  • Exchange online, Teams, Sharepoint, and 365 Admin Center
  • Data Loss Prevention.
  • Handa on experience with VMware infrastructure (vSphere, ESXI) supporting Citrix workloads.
  • Experience with enterprise storage solutions (ISILON, Nimble, Everpure or similar).
  • Configuration Manager experience (MCM and Intune).
  • Email security platform knowledge (Mimecast, Proofpoint, etc).
  • Strong focus on security best practices in an enterprise environment.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
  • Team plater that takes ownership of responsibilities that are assigned.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and have the ability to multitask on a regular basis.
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with IT, Security, and clinical/business stakeholders.

Summit's hiring range for this position is $99,286 to $124,108 per year. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation. In addition to our base salary, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package that aligns with our vision of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. If you are hired at Summit, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
