Job description

The Holmes County General Health District is actively seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position of fiscal clerk/registrar. Under the general supervision of the Director of Finance and HR, the Fiscal Clerk/Registrar will perform a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties including but not limited to issuance of birth and death records, front desk receptionist duties, assisting with payroll processing, receipting deposits, and completing purchase orders and vouchers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE

  • Assists the Director of Finance and HR as needed to submit reports to the treasurer’s office, receipt in direct deposits and Point and Pay deposits, generate reports related to grant reporting requirements, reminders, and past due reports, assist with payroll, and assist with purchase orders and vouchers for payment.
  • Serves as the agency’s vital statistics registrar, assists customers with filing for birth and death certificates. As well as providing customer services and guidance to those entering and exiting the building.
  • Participates in outreach activities such as writing letters, attending health fairs, attending county fairs, etc.
  • Supports the HCGHD in meeting the goals of the agency’s strategic plan, meeting the goals of the community health improvement plan, and participating in the HCGHD’s Point of Distribution drills.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS

Completion of secondary education (high school or GED), plus at least six (6) months of clerical experience, or equivalent. Previous fiscal experience is a plus. Bilingual candidates/staff preferred.
