GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of assigned buildings. Core duties will include performing routine janitorial tasks, sanitizing restrooms, managing trash and recycling, restocking inventory, setting up spaces for events, performing minor repairs, and reporting maintenance issues to management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting. Clean and disinfect restrooms and high-touch surfaces. Maintain cleanliness of break rooms, lobbies, hallways, stairways, and entryways.
• Monitor and restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, sanitizer, and toilet paper. Remove trash and recycling from designated areas and ensure proper disposal.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests, spills, or maintenance issues. Clean and maintain exterior areas such as sidewalks, entrances, walkways, and parking lots as needed.
• Assist with event setup and teardown as required.  Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with co-workers, visitors, and guests. Operate commercial cleaning equipment safely. 
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.  Follow hazardous material and chemical handling guidelines and proactively report any maintenance or safety hazard to supervisors.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending and participating in appropriate training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.  1–2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or general maintenance work is strongly preferred. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, reach overhead, perform repetitive movements, and lift up to 50 pounds.  Must be experience with floor maintenance, commercial cleaning chemicals, and equipment.  

WORKING CONDITIONS
Shop environment where continuously exposed to several elements such as, noise, intermittent
standing, walking; and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting. Also may have exposure at times to the outside weather elements.
