Job Description:

Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager, the Web Developer Co-op’s responsibilities include building and maintaining websites and web-based applications that support the company’s goals and strategic initiatives. This role involves front-end development and the potential to assist with back-end development tasks, ensuring websites are visually appealing, user-friendly, secure, and optimized for performance. The developer collaborates with the Senior Web Developer, digital marketing team, designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to bring digital experiences to life. 

Essential Job Duties 

  • Build responsive websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other programming languages. 

  • Experience with VB.NET framework or similar.  

  • Design website architecture and user interfaces based on client or project requirements. 

  • Provide website maintenance and enhancements. 

  • Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency.

  • Conduct routine site audits and debugging to ensure optimal performance. 

  • Optimize websites for speed, scalability, and SEO. 

  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web performance, integrations, and user experience. 

  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs. 

Essential Skills 

  • Ability to work independently, anticipate questions or problems, and work through a solution. 

  • Ability to organize and stay on top of several different projects at once. 

  • Ability to coordinate, plan, and manage projects. 

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .NET Framework, cross browser compatibility, responsive design, Sitefinity (or similar content management systems), human/computer interaction experience. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  

  • Experience successfully working in a team environment. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (preferred). 

  • 2 Years Web Development Experience 

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript 

  • Experience with Content Management Systems 

  • Experience with APIs, webhooks, and data formats (JSON, XML) 

  • Ability to communicate in English 

  • Ability to do essential duties 

ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements 

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs 

  • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time. 

  • Primary work environment is professional corporate office.

At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $23-$25/hr
