Job description

Isaac is looking for an EA Manager to lead our Executive Assistant function at a pivotal point in the firm's growth. This is a player-coach role: you'll provide direct, high-calibre support to 1-2 senior partners while managing a small team of EAs and owning the function's development, standards, and long-term health.

The dual bar is intentional, and it genuinely matters to us. We're not looking for someone who manages a team but steps back from their own desk, or someone who does exceptional EA work but hasn't yet led people. Both dimensions are equally important to this role and to the person who will thrive in it.

While we have a flexible working environment, the successful candidate should expect to spend an average of at least three days a week in person at our Liberty Village office.

What you'll do

Partner Support

  • Provide direct, proactive EA support to 1-2 senior partners, managing complex calendars, travel, communications, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Anticipate needs, remove friction, and operate with the kind of judgment that means partners rarely need to explain things twice.

  • Model the standard of EA craft you expect from your team.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of EAs, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development conversations. Be equally comfortable developing team member interested in a people-leadership path or an individual contributor path.

  • Own EA recruitment: define hiring criteria, run the assessment process, and build the pipeline as the firm grows.

  • Oversee team workload distribution and partner-EA alignment.

Function Ownership

  • Own and evolve the EA competency framework and operating standards, keeping them live as the business changes.

  • Build and maintain the EA onboarding playbook, ensuring every new team member starts with the tools, context, and expectations they need.

  • Lead the EA technology and AI stack: evaluate tools, run pilots, and embed the best ones into daily practice across the team.

  • Design and run a partner feedback loop, giving the team consistent, actionable signal on service quality.

  • Own function-level capacity planning and headcount forecasting, feeding into broader head office planning cycles.

  • Develop new service models as the firm grows, identifying opportunities for the EA function to add value in new ways.

Who you are.

  • A practicing EA. You're doing the work and you're good at it. You don't see the partner desk as a stepping stone away from management; you see it as part of the job.

  • A builder by instinct. You're more interested in shaping how the function operates than in maintaining what already exists. You'll inherit some good foundations and you'll know what to improve.

  • Calm under competing demands. You can hold your own partner portfolio, manage a team through a busy week, and still think clearly about longer-range function issues without letting any of them collapse.

  • Fluent in AI tools for productivity. You've moved past curiosity and into real practice. You'll have a point of view on what belongs in the team's toolkit and you'll be able to drive adoption.

  • Straight with people. You give feedback directly, have hard conversations without drama, and create the kind of environment where the team knows where they stand.

What you bring.

  • 5+ years of progressive EA experience supporting senior executives in a professional services or comparable environment.

  • 2+ years of direct people management: hiring, coaching, and developing EA or administrative professionals.

  • Demonstrated experience owning or significantly improving an EA, administrative, or operations function (not just contributing to one).

  • Genuine proficiency with AI and productivity tools, including active use in day-to-day work.

  • Experience working in or alongside fast-growing, project-based organizations is an asset.
