Primary Function

The Key Account Specialist, Specialty Care is responsible for driving the overall sales performance of the Specialty Care portfolio. This includes sales planning, territory management, execution of sales strategies to ensure profitable growth for the company portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

Implement sales strategies and tactics while regularly monitoring and analyzing the territory’s sales performance to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Facilitate the timely enlistment of newly launched and key products in hospitals and clinics by providing necessary information and support.

Conduct thorough market and competitor analysis to identify and capitalize on business opportunities within the territory.

Develop and execute a detailed territory business plan, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize sales impact.

Maintain and update customer segmentation, databases, and call records to support effective sales strategies and customer engagement.

Deliver key promotional messages clearly according to the approved marketing plan.

Monitor and advise on customer inventories to ensure adequate stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking.

Participate in various promotional activities to increase awareness and interest in oncology products among healthcare professionals.

Identify and engage potential new customers to expand the customer base while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

Develop and build deep specialist product and disease state knowledge in a oncology area.

Ensure compliance within all activities to maintain the highest standards of patients focused ethical conduct in line with Abbott values.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or a related field.

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, preferably in oncology.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Innovative, creative, out of the box thinking.

Willing to work in a small but fast growing, entrepreneurial commercial environment.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory

Experience in launching new products in the oncology market.

Established network of contacts within the oncology field is preferred.
