Job Description:

Position Summary

As an STC Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be the technical lead for all electrical systems architecture and integration tasks across our Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) cabin upgrade projects. Operating under JAR25, CS25, and FAR25 airworthiness requirements, you will own the electrical package from end to end—translating initial customer requests into certified, installable wiring and system configurations for the hangar floor.

Meet the team:

Our Engineers have the privilege of working on complex, highly engineered machines and are involved at all stages of the aircraft life cycle, from product development to manufacturing and direct support to our airline customers. If you’re interested in designing, creating, and testing the present and future of Airbus products across the globe, join our mission to connect the world.

Your working environment:

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

How we care for you:

  • Financial Rewards: Competitive base salary, incentive compensation which may include profit sharing schemes, retirement savings plan and the ability to participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”)

  • Work/Life Balance: Paid time off including personal time, holidays and a generous paid parental leave program.

  • Health & Welfare: Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical (traditional and high-deductible health plans), prescription, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages.

  • Individual Development: Upskilling and development opportunities through our global Leadership University, including unlimited access to 10,000+ e-learning courses focusing on ways to develop your employability, certifications, career path as well as the opportunity to participate in accelerated development programmes and both national and international mobility.

Your challenges:

  • You will act as the technical anchor for the electrical systems team, ensuring all engineering packages are delivered on-time and on-quality.

  • Architecture & Design: Define complex cabin electrical system architectures (block diagrams), author equipment specifications, and validate all engineering Wiring Diagrams.

  • Compliance Deliverables: Author and approve technical/substantiation notes, installation instructions, and Service Bulletins (SBs).

  • Project Team Representation: Represent the electrical discipline during multi-functional team meetings and directly report status to the Project Manager.

  • On-Site Technical Assistance: Provide real-world engineering support to the working party technicians during the actual aircraft modification phase.

  • Ensure all cabin electrical designs strictly align with applicable aviation regulations and Airbus engineering requirements.

  • Perform all technical tasks utilizing approved company processes, engineering tools, and strict ethics/compliance standards.

  • Actively manage your tasks to ensure all deliverables stay within the agreed project schedule and budget.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline, simplify, or automate current engineering procedures, design workflows, and software tools.

  • Promote lean ways of working and champion constructive changes within the engineering team.

  • Capture and share lessons learned from completed retrofit projects to improve global execution.

  • Partner with the Program team during the initial offer phase to provide technical estimations and quotations for prospective customer modifications.

  • Maintain agility by occasionally supporting simple cabin mechanical design tasks, configuration management, or technical publication updates as needed.

Your boarding pass:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering).

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the aviation industry, with a direct focus on aircraft cabin electrical systems design, development, and certification pathways.

  • Authorized to Work in the US

  • General technical knowledge of Airbus aircraft systems and architectures.

  • Familiarity with EASA Part 21 (DOA / POA) and Part 145 regulatory frameworks.

  • Prior experience managing technical projects or navigating complex aircraft configuration management.

  • A highly collaborative team player with a synthetic mindset (ability to condense complex electrical issues into clean, executable concepts).

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present technical data to executive leadership.

  • High motivation and flexibility to shift gears smoothly in a demanding, fast-paced retrofit environment.
