ABOUT THE FINANCE TEAM
The Corporate FP&A team is a highly visible team that helps plan and evaluate Thumbtack’s financial performance against company goals. Our team’s mission is to deliver timely, complete and accurate financial information that can be relied on to help drive impactful business decisions. The FP&A team provides critical financial reporting and insights to the organization, leadership team, Board, and investors.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the leader responsible for Revenue and Contribution, you will be instrumental in preparing the monthly forecast, annual budget and long range plans from Revenue to contribution margin. You will also be responsible for preparing variance commentary and business performance commentary including underlying drivers for both internal and external communication. You will work with senior leaders across various teams to prepare these.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Leadership of revenue and contribution margin forecast and planning processes for Thumbtack, including process management, communication and reporting
- Strong partnership collaboration with senior leadership, cross functional teams, FP&A and analytics teams to ensure timely and accurate revenue and contribution margin reporting, as well as forecasts and plans (annual and LRP)
- Analyze and synthesize financial results and communicate key messages to internal stakeholders
- Support the business in planning and developing team targets and OKRs
- Own and improve current systems, models and processes to increase productivity and accuracy of the FP&A team and guide our strategic decision-making on key revenue/margin drivers
- Manage frequent ad hoc projects to support management and business decisions
IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU MUST BRING
- 8+ years of FP&A experience
- Experience leading Revenue forecasting
- Experience analyzing and creating narratives on business performance for C-suite, Board and other stakeholders
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, using key tools within Excel and G-Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to tell the story beyond the numbers
- Ability to translate financial analysis into clear and insightful recommendations
EXPECTED SALARY RANGES
- For candidates living in Ontario and British Columbia, the expected salary range for the role is currently $147,900 - $191,400.
Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
