Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Product Design to lead product design, user experience research, and experience architecture across our software products. The role sits within Product Management and operates as a peer to our product leaders, partnering with them from the earliest stages of product discovery through delivery.
Allvue’s Product Management function defines Allvue’s product vision and strategy, and works cross-functionally to lead the delivery, launch and management of the products through their entire lifecycle. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the product design and user experience strategy across the product lifecycle, ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of usability and user satisfaction. As a peer to product leaders, the Head of Product Design helps lead problem discovery and experience definition before engineering cycles are committed, and partners with product, engineering, customers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless and engaging user experience across all touchpoints. With AI fundamentally changing both how products work and how they are built, this role is central to designing agent-driven experiences, where the AI agent is increasingly part of the interface itself, and to defining new AI-enabled products, experiences, and ways of working. It also leads the adoption of AI tools within the design function, reshaping how research, prototyping, and design delivery get done and keeping Allvue at the forefront of AI adoption and enablement.
The best candidate will possess outstanding creativity, a highly detailed nature, and the ability to help define and solve complex user experience problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Product Design Strategy : Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive product design and UX strategy that aligns with Allvue's business goals and user needs.
- Team Leadership : Manage, mentor, and inspire the product design team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement, and building a design practice that scales consistently as our product organization grows.
- User Research : Lead user research initiatives with customers to gain deep insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points, translating findings into actionable design solutions for our Credit, Equity, and Fund Admin customers.
- Service Design : Lead service design workshops with clients and internal stakeholders to optimize and integrate various user interactions within and across our software products, ensuring seamless end-to-end experiences.
- Design Leadership & Experience Architecture : Guide the design process from concept to delivery and own experience architecture (information architecture, interaction patterns, and high-fidelity design), ensuring that all products are intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing. Ensure engineering receives clear, validated design intent before the build begins.
- Collaboration : Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate design intent faithfully into production, partnering with engineers throughout the build and owning acceptance of the front-end experience against design intent.
- Usability Testing: Lead usability testing sessions, analyze results, and recommend improvements to enhance user satisfaction and product performance.
- Design System Evolution: Continuously evolve and steward our existing design system (component library, design tokens, and accessibility standards), keeping it cohesive and scalable across all of Allvue's products, and extending it to new interaction paradigms as agentic interactions and MCP become part of our UX/UI strategy.
- AI-Enabled & Agentic Product Design: Define and champion new AI-enabled and agentic products and experiences, designing for a world where the agent is increasingly the primary interface (conversational, multimodal, and proactive) and establishing the interaction patterns, trust signals, and human-in-the-loop controls that make agent-led UX usable and reliable.
- AI-Augmented Design Practice : Reinvent how the design function works by embedding AI tools across research, ideation, prototyping, and design-to-delivery handoff, raising the team's velocity and quality, and continuously evolving the design operating model as new AI capabilities emerge.
- Data-Driven Experiences: Lead the design of experiences that bring Allvue's data analytics and benchmarks into OneVue and, increasingly, across our broader portfolio, turning data and insights into intuitive, differentiated, AI-enabled products.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present UX findings, design concepts, and project updates to executive leadership and other stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
- Operating Model Evolution: Help build toward an experience-team structure, integrated product, design, and engineering teams, as our forward operating model, partnering with leadership on the 2027 budget and organizational planning that will make it possible. •
