What You'll Do

The Surgical Tech Lead supports all services dealing with surgical procedures. The Surgical Tech Lead assists and supports the Service Line Clinician in overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation within surgical services. The Surgical Tech Lead is responsible for coordinating the supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for all surgeries related to that service line.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred. Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years operating room experience with proficiency in the Surgical Tech role. Minimum one year experience in specialty service line, required.
  • Licensure/certification/registration:
  • Current Surgical Tech certification preferred.
  • Current Surgical Tech Certification - based on state specific regulations (South Carolina Region Only), required.
  • ACLS for staff working in the Cardiovascular OR required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution skills, time management skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Additional skills preferred: Encourage advancement of certification within 24 months.
