Job description

Location : Hailsham, covering Wealden Salary : £28640 per year Hours : 22.5 per week Evenings and Weekend Shifts

What you’ll be doing: Southdown is one of the leading providers of mental health services in Sussex. We have transformed our services to provide easier access to mental health support for people across East Sussex. As a Mental Health Support Coordinator, you’ll work in partnership and in the community to provide targeted mental health and holistic support.

You’ll support clients, from completing initial assessment through to facilitating access to other mental health services. A key part of the role will be to deliver short term recovery-focused sessions with clients, co-creating support plans and goals, and using coaching and motivational interviewing to explore barriers. You’ll work in Southdown buildings and community locations and be able to travel across neighbourhoods in order to offer accessible services. You will have experience of a dynamic approach to risk assessment and be committed to removing barriers to clients receiving the support they need. This role will require working until 8pm at least one night a week.

If you are passionate about providing recovery focused support to enable clients to reach their goals, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome applications from candidates with previous experience such as Support Worker, Social Prescriber, Case Manager, Social Worker, Care Coordinator, Mental Health Specialist or Service Coordinator. However, this is not essential and full training will be provided.
