As a Senior IT Analyst – Specialty Systems, you'll serve as a trusted technical expert supporting the applications that clinicians and operational teams rely on every day. Your expertise will help optimize workflows, improve system performance, and implement innovative technology solutions that enhance patient care across UVA Health.

Working within one of the nation's leading academic health systems, you'll collaborate with clinical, operational, technical, and vendor partners to analyze business needs, configure enterprise applications, lead system implementations, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Summary

The Senior IT Analyst serves as the subject matter expert for assigned healthcare applications, providing advanced application support, system configuration, workflow analysis, and technical consultation. This role partners closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to evaluate business needs, implement technology solutions, and maintain reliable, secure, and efficient application environments.

The Senior IT Analyst leads system implementations, upgrades, optimization efforts, and complex troubleshooting while ensuring solutions align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

What You'll Do

Application & Technical Support

Serve as the primary subject matter expert for assigned enterprise healthcare applications.

Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize application functionality.

Analyze operational workflows and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.

Perform system testing, validation, upgrades, and production support.

Project Leadership

Lead application implementations, upgrades, optimization projects, and system enhancements.

Develop project plans, testing strategies, and implementation documentation.

Coordinate with vendors, Health IT teams, and operational leaders throughout project lifecycles.

Collaboration & Customer Support

Serve as the liaison between clinical departments, business partners, vendors, and technical teams.

Translate operational needs into technical requirements.

Provide advanced troubleshooting, end-user support, and workflow consultation.

Create and maintain system documentation, procedures, and knowledge resources.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and clinical workflows.

Support change management, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Mentor teammates and share technical expertise across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience

Five (5) years of experience supporting enterprise software applications, healthcare information systems, or related IT systems.

Licensure

None required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting clinical or healthcare applications.

Experience with system configuration, implementation, and application support.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working directly with end users and vendors.

Project leadership or implementation experience.

Knowledge of healthcare workflows and regulatory requirements preferred.

The pay range for this role is $41.37 - $79.54 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
