Who We're Looking For Toyota's Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) organization is shaping the future of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) by developing and integrating software-defined vehicle technologies that enhance safety, performance, and the customer experience. We are seeking a technically strong and collaborative Senior Engineer who thrives in complex system development environments, enjoys solving challenging vehicle integration issues, and is passionate about delivering production-ready ADAS solutions that meet Toyota's highest quality standards.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, ADAS Systems & Software, this role will play a key leadership position in driving ADAS software, controller, sensor, and vehicle-level development activities while collaborating closely with suppliers, Toyota Motor Corporation, and global engineering partners.

What You'll Be Doing Success in this role means serving as a key technical leader across multiple ADAS development activities, ensuring software and vehicle systems are integrated, validated, and delivered with the quality, safety, and reliability expected by Toyota customers. On a typical day, you'll collaborate with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and global stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges, drive issue resolution, and support critical development milestones.

Lead cross-functional engineering efforts across ADAS software, electronic control units, sensors, system integration activities, and vehicle-level validation programs.

Analyze complex system behaviors across software, vehicle networks, controllers, supplier interfaces, and vehicle platforms to identify root causes and implement effective technical countermeasures.

Drive supplier performance and development activities by aligning requirements, managing issue resolution, monitoring validation progress, and ensuring production readiness.

Partner with Toyota Motor Corporation and global engineering teams to support technical reviews, development milestones, design decisions, and strategic project execution.

Define, review, and validate system and software requirements for ADAS functions, diagnostics, controller interfaces, and vehicle performance targets.

Support SIL, HIL, bench, and vehicle testing activities by developing test strategies, analyzing data, triaging defects, and validating system readiness.

Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership by reviewing work products, guiding development activities, and helping teams achieve program objectives and milestone commitments.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen engineering quality, development efficiency, and overall vehicle system performance.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a higher education closely related technical discipline that provides a strong foundation in automotive systems and embedded technologies.

3+ years of hands-on programming experience using C, C++, and Python to support software development, troubleshooting, testing, or automation activities.

3+ years of experience working with automotive sensors and embedded technologies, including Camera, Radar, LiDAR, or related electronic control systems.

Working knowledge of automotive development standards and methodologies such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA, or functional safety processes.

Hands-on experience supporting ADAS controllers, embedded software, vehicle networks, diagnostics, SIL testing, HIL testing, bench testing, and vehicle-level validation activities.

Experience collaborating with Tier 1 suppliers, Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan-based engineering organizations, or global product development teams.

Experience supporting vehicle-level troubleshooting, validation, data collection, and issue resolution activities.

A motor vehicle record acceptable by company standards and the ability to support vehicle testing activities.

Ability to work on-site four days per week, travel up to 20% as needed, and support occasional overtime or after-hours work to meet project needs.

Experience in designing ADS technologies, including mapping, localization, path planning, and controls.

Added Bonus If You Have

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
