Job description

  • Lead the design and development of public health systems (water supply, drainage, sanitation, gas) and fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, suppression systems) for building projects.
  • Oversee and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications for public health and fire protection systems.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and quality control across multiple projects. Guiding and mentoring engineers is a key part of the role.
  • Conduct site inspections, supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of public health and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with UAE building codes, Civil Defense and other authority requirements, and international standards (NFPA, BS, IPC, etc.).
  • Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients to integrate public health and fire protection solutions into overall project designs.
  • Advise on sustainable and innovative technologies for water conservation, waste management, and fire safety.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues during construction and post-occupancy phases.
  • Participate in tendering, contract negotiations, and technical presentations.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in public health and fire protection engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree or Chartered status preferred).
  • 10–15 years of experience in public health and fire protection engineering for building services, with significant experience in the UAE absolutely essential.
  • Deep knowledge of UAE codes, Civil Defense regulations, and international standards (NFPA, BS, IPC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and hydraulic calculation tools.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, client-facing, and negotiation skills
