Clonerobotics
Mechanical Assembly Technician
Job description
Responsibilities
You'll be central to the physical construction of Clone's skeletal systems — not just executing assembly, but actively improving how it gets done.
Hardware Assembly
- Perform hands-on assembly of the Clone skeletal system across prototype and pre-production stages.
- Evaluate and test new materials supplied by the mechanical team — silicones, 3D prints, metals — to support continuous product development.
- Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and workstation setups for improved efficiency and repeatability.
Process & Collaboration
- Partner with mechanical engineers to provide structured, actionable feedback throughout the prototype assembly process.
- Contribute as a key stakeholder in developing new solutions — your insights into production processes will directly influence quality standards across manufacturing stages.
- Help shape the structure and operating practices of the Assembly team as the company scales toward full android production.
Requirements
We're looking for someone with genuine hands-on workshop depth — someone who can work independently, communicate across time zones, and bring structured thinking to a fast-moving build environment.
Required
- 2+ years of workshop experience across various technologies and manufacturing fields.
- Proven ability to work with diverse materials including silicones, 3D prints, and metals.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to read technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with engineering teammates.
- Fluent English — essential for coordination between our Mountain View and Poland teams.
- We are looking for someone with experience similar to Automotive Assembly Operator (repairs and renovations) or Phone Micro-component Assembler.
Bonus points
- Familiarity with CAD design programs (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
- Experience in precision assembly environments.
What We Offer
This is an early-stage opportunity with real scope: you'll influence manufacturing quality standards across the whole production pipeline.
- Real impact. Your feedback shapes quality standards across the entire manufacturing pipeline — not just your bench.
- Early-stage ownership. Help define team structure and assembly processes before they're set in stone.
- Cutting-edge hardware. Work with novel materials and prototype systems at the frontier of humanoid robotics.
- Collaborative environment. Close working relationship with mechanical engineers across the U.S. and Poland.
- On-site in Mountain View. Hands-on role in our California workshop, where the robots are actually built.
- Contract with 20 days of paid holidays + 5 days of sick leave + 8 unpaid days off
