Skills and areas of development that will be achieved through the role of this position include but are not limited to customer service, time management, communication, HR practices and policies. Student employment appointments are for one semester and may be renewed on a semester-by-semester basis. Renewal will be dictated by student demand and/or departmental needs.SUMMARY:Front office assistant. Skills and areas of development that will be achieved through the role of this position include but are not limited to customer service, time management, communication, HR practices, and policies. Student employment appointments are for one semester and may be renewed on a semester-by-semester basis. Renewal will be dictated by student demand and/or departmental needs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with answering telephones, faxing, filing correspondence, and running errands on campus. Greet office guests, answer questions and direct to the proper individual(s).Schedule appointments. Maintain documents and spreadsheets. Collaborate and communicate with supervisor. Increase skill set by participating in various projects with staff. Ability to work with frequent interruptions. Assists new employees with I-9 and new hire onboarding completion. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have a work-study permit, issued by Financial Aid, for current semester Education: Must be an active student for East Texas A&M University. Student can be at an undergrad or graduate level. Knowledge / Skills: Punctual. Good computer skills (list programs your department uses, for example, Microsoft Word or Excel). Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to handle confidential matters and to be professional. PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE: Some office or administrative experience preferred but not necessary.
