SHGH Group
Digital Campaigner
Job description
The opportunity
Politics is moving faster than most organisations can keep up with. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes digital, and specifically video, to help our clients cut through.
Stonehaven is the campaigns and communications arm of the SHGH Group, working alongside public policy research consultancy Public First and sustainability consultancy Robertsbridge. Together we help some of the UK's most consequential organisations understand the political environment, shape opinion, and build campaigns that move people.
This role sits at the centre of that. You'll run digital campaigns for a wide range of clients: campaign groups, major corporations, trade bodies, and political organisations, translating complex policy and reputational challenges into content that actually works on social. You'll do everything from paid social strategy to filming and editing your own short-form video. If you've ever watched a PoliticsJOE clip or a well-crafted campaign Reel and thought "I could do that better", this might be the job for you.
What you'll do
You'll have a lot of autonomy, and the work is genuinely varied. Some of what you'll be doing:
•
Own digital strategy and delivery for client campaigns, from paid social and email to organic content and short-form video, often across multiple accounts simultaneously
•
Film and edit your own social video content: Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, talking-head clips, explainers. This is the skill we're most excited about, and where you'll have real room to run
•
Set up and manage paid campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads, and TikTok, including audience targeting, creative testing, and performance reporting
•
Build and manage websites and landing pages (WordPress or equivalent), working with designers when needed
•
Develop content strategies grounded in an understanding of how political and public affairs audiences actually behave online
•
Act as the digital lead on client accounts, working closely with our policy, research, and corporate affairs teams, and building direct relationships with clients
•
Contribute to Stonehaven's own marketing and thought leadership, amplifying the Group's work to wider audiences
•
Keep the rest of the team ahead of the curve on platforms, formats, and what's working
Who we're looking for
We're deliberately open about where you might be coming from. You might be running digital campaigns at a political party, an advocacy group, or a public affairs agency. You might be producing video at a media outlet or broadcaster. You might be somewhere else entirely, but if you have the technical skills and a genuine interest in how political and public opinion works, we'd like to hear from you.
The things that matter most
•
Video production and editing skills, specifically for social media. You should be comfortable picking up a camera (or your phone), filming usable content, and turning it around quickly. Experience with Premiere Rush, CapCut, or equivalent is what we're after; we're not looking for broadcast-level production values, we're looking for someone who knows what performs on Reels and TikTok
•
2–5 years of hands-on experience running digital or social media campaigns, in-house or agency-side
•
Paid social experience across at least two major platforms. Meta and LinkedIn are most relevant to our work, but show us what you've run
•
A track record of creating content that drives real engagement, not just impressions. You should be able to talk us through what worked and why
•
Political and policy literacy. You don't need to be a policy expert, but you need to care about politics and be able to quickly understand the issues our clients are navigating
•
Strong writing: clear, direct, and able to adapt tone across clients and channels
•
Comfort working across multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously. This is a consultancy; the pace is real
Experience in some of the following would be a bonus, but none of these are essential:
•
Figma, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite for graphics
•
CRM or email marketing platforms
•
Running campaigns with direct political or reputational significance
•
Experience working in or alongside a campaigning organisation, political party, media outlet, or public affairs agency
Why Stonehaven, and why now
There are a lot of digital roles out there. Here's what makes this one different.
The integrated model. Stonehaven sits inside a group with Public First, one of the UK's leading public policy research consultancies, and Robertsbridge, which works on sustainability and ESG. That means you'll have economists, political researchers, data scientists, and former senior civil servants and journalists a desk away. The work you'll do here is more intellectually demanding than a typical digital agency role, and more varied than anything in-house.
The subject matter. Our clients are major companies, campaign groups, and political organisations operating at the sharp end of public opinion. The campaigns matter and they're about issues that appear on the front page. If you've been producing digital content in media or party politics and want to see how those skills get applied when the stakes are commercial and reputational, this is the move.
Video is genuinely central. Most public affairs and campaign consultancies are still text and events-led. We're building the digital capability to be different, and video is the gap we most want to close. You won't be adding video to your job description as an afterthought; it's why we're hiring.
Real progression. We're an ambitious and growing team. This role has a genuine path upward as we build our digital capability, and you'll have significant autonomy from day one.
What we offer
•
£36,000 – £40,000 starting salary, subject to experience
•
Discretionary annual bonus up to 15%, based on personal and business performance
•
25 days holiday plus additional office closure days
•
Enhanced pension contribution of 5%
•
Private healthcare including dental and optical (post probation)
•
Enhanced family leave
•
Bike and Electric Vehicle salary sacrifice schemes (post probation)
•
Employee assistance programme with 24/7 counselling access
•
Central London offices with bike storage and showers; hybrid working
How to apply
Send us a cover letter and CV. The cover letter matters. We want to know why this role, why now, and what campaign or piece of content you're most proud of and why. If there's a video, Reel, or piece of social content you've made that you'd like to point us to, please do.
We actively welcome applications from candidates with non-traditional routes into digital campaigning. If you're not sure whether your background fits, apply anyway and make the case.
Stonehaven is an equal opportunity employer, committed to equal opportunity and equal pay regardless of background. Please only apply if you have the right to work in the UK.
