Cloud Architect

Black & Grey HR is recruiting for an established technology solutions and services provider in Doha, Qatar. Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud and hybrid-cloud environments across Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and on-premises HCI platforms. This role is responsible for driving cloud transformation, governance, automation, security, and operational excellence while ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives. Key Responsibilities: Cloud & Hybrid Architecture - Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient multi-cloud solutions across Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Architect and manage hybrid-cloud environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms. - Design, deploy, and maintain Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) platforms including VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, and Nutanix NCM/AHV. - Lead cloud migration, modernization, and digital transformation initiatives. - Design cloud landing zones, networking architectures, identity management, and security integration. - Support both VM-based and containerized workloads across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. - Develop highly available architectures incorporating disaster recovery, backup, and failover strategies. Cloud Automation & Operations - Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, and GCP Deployment Manager. - Manage day-to-day cloud operations, monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization. - Troubleshoot complex cloud and hybrid infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and networking. - Provide technical guidance for Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) migrations. - Ensure cloud environments remain secure, optimized, and cost-efficient. Architecture Governance & Documentation - Develop technical architecture documents, solution designs, governance frameworks, and operational standards. - Create detailed cloud architecture diagrams, deployment blueprints, and operating procedures. - Maintain documentation for cloud deployments, governance, audit compliance, and change management. - Participate in architecture reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions. - Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to deliver cloud solutions aligned with organizational objectives. Cloud Optimization & Continuous Improvement - Recommend improvements to cloud architecture, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency. - Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices. - Support cloud governance initiatives, security compliance, and operational excellence across enterprise environments. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure cloud environments. - Minimum 3 years of experience managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Minimum 3 years of experience managing cloud virtualization platforms and high availability infrastructure. - Proven experience designing and operating hybrid-cloud architectures. - Strong experience leading cloud migration and modernization projects. Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS), Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), VMware, and Nutanix environments is highly desirable. - Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, automation, and operational best practices. Required Skillset - Multi-cloud architecture across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Hybrid-cloud architecture and enterprise cloud networking. - Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, GCP Deployment Manager). - VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, Nutanix NCM/AHV administration. - Cloud networking including VNET/VPC, VPN, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect, routing, subnetting, firewalls, and load balancers. - Cloud security, identity management, Zero Trust architecture, and governance frameworks. - Cloud monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor, GCP Operations Suite, VMware vRealize, and Nutanix Prism. - High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and business continuity planning. - Strong documentation, solution architecture, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
