Compliance Engineer

About the role
The Compliance Engineer is responsible for executing Safetrust’s international regulatory compliance and product certification roadmaps. This position plays a key role in the Regulatory department , ensuring all hardware and software innovations achieve seamless, compliant multi-region market entry.
This role focuses on hands-on coordination of testing, documentation preparation, and lab management , and contributes to aligning early product designs with evolving international standards. The position is critical in supporting Safetrust’s continued growth by optimizing certification timelines, reducing duplicate testing costs, and maintaining customer confidence in our digital credential and IoT security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Laboratory Management
- Coordinate product testing schedules, technical submissions, and test plans with accredited third-party laboratories.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact during testing, managing day-to-day operations with external compliance bodies.
- Leverage existing test data (e.g., CE, FCC) to support cost-effective multi-country approvals and reduce duplicate testing.
- Support internal and external audits related to compliance frameworks and security environments (e.g., ISO, NIST).
Technical Troubleshooting & Remediation
- Troubleshoot testing and certification issues occurring during laboratory testing.
- Partner directly with Engineering teams to perform root cause analysis on failed parameters.
Design Compliance & Requirements Engineering
- Review product designs and integrate international regulatory requirements into engineering processes from initial concept through release.
- Interpret complex, evolving international regulatory updates and translate them into concrete engineering actions.
- Monitor technical compliance metrics and interoperability standards from industry alliances such as BTSig, Aliro, and OSDP.
Documentation & Tracker Management
- Compile and manage Technical Construction Files, Declaration of Conformity records, and test reports.
- Maintain the centralized global certification tracker to monitor active certificates, upcoming expirations, and renewals.
- Provide necessary technical compliance documentation to Customer Success and Sales teams to resolve client inquiries.
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, product certification, or technical testing environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- Core technical expertise in global standards (FCC, CE, RCM) and managing third-party testing laboratories.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for managing tasks, project tracking, and engineering documentation workflows.
- Strong knowledge of IoT ecosystems, RF/Wireless communication (BLE, NFC, Wi-Fi), or access control systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English to interface with international labs and global teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and certification pipelines concurrently in a fast-paced, global environment.
