Position Summary:

Bank of America is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support secure, compliant, and scalable application delivery within the Global Operations Emerging Technology (GOET) organization. This role combines hands-on DevOps engineering with enterprise enablement, including application onboarding, deployment support, and alignment with governance processes such as change management, vulnerability tracking, and Service Management Transformation (SMT).   This position ensures continuity of a white-glove DevOps support model, enabling efficient and compliant delivery while bridging application teams with enterprise DevOps and governance functions. This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
  • Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities
  • Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements
  • Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
  • Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Application teams will lack dedicated DevOps support, increasing delivery risk and cycle time.
  • Change management coordination may become fragmented, creating compliance and audit concerns.
  • Vulnerability tracking and reporting continuity may be disrupted, impacting risk visibility.
  • Progress on ServiceNow/SMT initiatives may be delayed.
  • Collaborate with security teams to drive secure coding standards and vulnerability remediation strategies.
  • Reviews the configuration of applications servers to confirm that CI/CD service platform onboarding pre-requisites are available and configured properly.
  • Demonstrate expertise in solution design across multiple technologies and can identify opportunities for technical training and coaching across the organization.
  • Manage and coordinate releases as change co Ordinator, ensuring readiness checks, clear change documentation, stakeholder communication, and ensuring adherence to enterprise release governance and audit requirements.
  • Acts as a Change Coordination SME, Support Service Management Transformation (SMT) initiatives which includes ServiceNow adoption.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or related software engineering roles.
  • Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code, etc.
  • Experience with implementing DevSecOps practices by integrating automated security controls into CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous compliance, early vulnerability detection, and secure application delivery at scale.
  • Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using one or more: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Artifactory (Jfrog), Ansible, XLR and Harness CD or equivalent.
  • Experience in working with Jenkins Multibranch pipelines, shared libraries and version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket & Github.
  • Experience with code scanning tools such as Sonarcube, Checkmarx and Aquascan.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (preferred), AWS Cloud Formation, Azure resource Manager.
  • Experience running on-prem /off-prem container orchestration platforms such as Openshift (Preferred), Rancher, AKS, EKS, or GKE.
  • Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash and Powershell to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Experience in working with IT Service Management tools such Remedy and ServiceNow. Must be able to support and change request end to end process.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with multi cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google cloud and mentor the cloud adoption process for the application teams.
  • Hands on Experience with at least one major clouds providers which includes, AWS, Azure and GCP and experience around CI/CD services and Data platform services in any of these cloud providers.
  • Experience with Astronomer Airflow in managing scheduler Jobs and deploying and managing containerized using vendor provided base images.
  • Prior experience with ServiceNow in supporting end to end process of change requests.
