Job description

This role is different from a traditional clinical post. It is project-based and delivery focused, with an emphasis on:

  • Designing and delivering dementia awareness and training sessions for non-clinical staff
  • Supporting the development and understanding of advance care planning conversations
  • Acting as an ambassador for Marie Curie’s dementia and end of life care work
  • Attending events and conferences, presenting and sharing best practice
  • Helping to raise awareness and promote the service across Wales

This role will not include full clinical caseload responsibilities and is instead centred on education, engagement, and influence.

Contract & flexibility

  • As & When working pattern – ideal for those seeking additional shifts alongside existing employment
  • 9 month fixed-term contract aligned to project delivery
  • Flexible working to support project needs across the designated Health Board area

This opportunity is particularly suited to individuals who are:

  • Currently employed but looking for additional flexible work
  • Recently retired or semi-retired clinicians with relevant expertise
  • Passionate about contributing to system-wide improvement in dementia and end of life care

We are looking for individuals who bring:

  • Experience in dementia care and/or palliative care
  • Confidence in delivering training and facilitating learning
  • Strong communication and engagement skills
  • A passion for improving care for people living with dementia and their families
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel across the Health Board area as required, this requires a valid licence allowing you to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle which can be insured foe business use

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (Aligned with AFC) £20.74 - £24.98 per hour
