The Opportunity:

Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification. The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore. IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries.

This team plays a key role in verifying and validating the products innovatively within bay-level solutions ensuring top-notch product quality which makes the organization one of the market leaders. You will be involved in thorough end-to-end R&D testing of bay-level solutions and support software tools. In addition, you will also work on enhancing the Verification and validation processes using innovative automation paradigms and tools. 

How will you make an impact:

  • To Verify & validate of substation automation product - Numerical Relays.

  • To Participate in test core team workshop to understand the product test requirements and performs software/domain test activities on system/product projects, including design, coding, and black box testing of software modules in line with the quality management system

  • Developing new and adaptive design of test cases for system and product requirements. Report & verify the test defect logs captured during the testing phase of the assigned product.

  • Partnering well with a variety of different product stakeholder groups, including management at different levels, business analysts and developer’s community.

  • Technically responsible to ensure the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the several subsystems in modular, easy-to-maintain and extendible software that meets the product specification.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

  • Required bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical / Electronic Engineering with 3-8 years of practical experience in Substation Automation.

  • Should be technically sound in the field of protection and communication protocols used in substation (Ex. IEC 61850, DNP3, Sampled Values, Time Synchronization protocols)

  • Should have knowledge on computer networks. OSI Layers, and different protocols in each layer is a plus.

  • Should be proficient in any programming language such as Python/Java/C#.

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle especially the Agile development method is a plus. 

  • Should have effective communication skills needed to collaborate with team members. 

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
