Job description

Reporting to the Director of Critical Care and Renal, the Patient Care Manager, Intensive Care Unit provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership within one of the organization’s most complex and high-acuity environments. 

This role is ideal for a visible, engaged, and dynamic leader who brings energy, curiosity, and confidence to team development, quality improvement, operational excellence, and complex change leadership. 

As a key member of the program leadership team, the Manager advances: 

  • Safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centred care 
  • Staff engagement and workforce resilience 
  • Interprofessional collaboration 
  • Continuous quality improvement and system-level change 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for ICU services 
  • Lead day-to-day operations, staffing, and resource utilization 
  • Drive quality, safety, and patient flow improvements 
  • Support and develop high-performing interprofessional teams 
  • Lead complex unit and system-level change initiatives 
  • Collaborate with physicians, professional practice, and corporate partners 
  • Advance education, readiness, and practice improvement activities 
  • Foster a psychologically safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment 

What you must have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Current registration with a recognized professional regulatory body (if applicable) 
  • Minimum 5 years progressive clinical leadership experience in acute care 
  • Demonstrated experience leading in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience supporting workforce resilience and staffing models in acute care environments 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hour Days  (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $66.122 - $82.639 per hour
