Job Overview

• Providing end to end legal support and guidance to Beverage category teams of India and other BU countries viz. Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka (3 Countries) for all their initiatives, along with Channel Support.
• Supporting Comms team on internal and external communication material related to all initiatives.
• Closely work with internal stakeholders on identifying or addressing and mitigating risks relating to corporate reputation /brand reputation in relation to Beverages.
• Closely work with Scientific & Regulatory (SRA) and Public Policy and Government Affairs (PPGA) teams to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory challenges specifically with respect to Food laws, Legal Metrology and BIS for Beverage category in India and 3 Countries.

Key Accountabilities

• Beverage Category Support
• Providing end to end legal support and guidance to Beverage category teams of India and Beverage teams of other BU countries viz. Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka (3 Countries) for all their initiatives along with Channel Support
• Work closely with Beverage vertical leads and other internal stakeholders on the issues relating to brand reputation, including on social media platforms.
• Review and approve all product launches, claims, brand promotions, campaigns and marketing activation plans, artworks while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with Beverage Category and relevant 3 Countries teams, Product Development, Nutrition Science and Scientific and Regulatory Affairs to assess the legal implications of various proposals, including new product launches, product claims and offer solution to help execute proposals without compromising legal and compliance requirements.
• Contract Management
• Review internal approval Memos as per Multi-Year Contracts (MYC) thresholds highlighting legal risk and advise risk remediation.
• Draft, review and negotiate all legal documentation relating to celebrity endorsement, media buying, Brand promotions, channel like key accounts and all other documents related to the business being supported.
• Litigations
• Work in close co-ordination with external counsels to monitor and strategize marketing related beverage litigations.
• Keep a close watch on key legal/regulatory headwinds and advise and align the business stakeholders.
• Work closely with SRA and PPGA teams to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory challenges with respect to Food laws, Legal Metrology and BIS and to support the teams in suitable representations with relevant regulatory authorities to safeguard PepsiCo interest and to ensure business continuity.
• Trainings
• Conduct Legal Trainings
• Work closely with C&E teams to provide legal guidance and support in COC Investigations and to imparting FCPA and Anti Bribery training to employees.

Qualifications

• Law Graduate with PQE of 12 years
• Excellent knowledge of Food Law, Legal Metrology, social media laws and other laws applicable to an FMCG industry
• Good legal research and interpretation skills
• Sound legal drafting and negotiation skills.
