We are looking for: Ophthalmology Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Proposed Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm

The Ophthalmology team is unique in that it specializes in appointment-based patient care, as well as assisting and preparing for surgeries . Ophthalmology is a fast-paced service with a high caseload , alternating between appointment and surgery days. You could assist with tonometry, corneal stains, Schirmer tear testing, as well as TPRs and chemical ablations.

What you’ll do

Prioritize caseload and patient care and prepare and check charts for appropriate paperwork

Restrain and assist during examinations

Obtain vitals and perform ocular testing

Assist with Venipuncture, IV Catheter placement and surgical procedures

Potential for additional training in a nesthesia and s edation

Prepare, call in or create written prescriptions

Coordinate interdepartmental communication, services, patient transfers and consults

Who are you

State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred

Prior veterinary experience required , previous o phthalmology experience desired

Proficient in calculations ( drugs , constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)

Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
