Industrial Design Intern
Job description
About the Role
Noise's in-house design studio works across audio, wearables, and emerging categories.. We're looking for an Industrial Design Intern to join us for a 6-month, full-time internship, contributing to product development across our portfolio.
What You'll Do
- Support the design team through the full product development cycle: research, ideation, sketching, CAD, and design refinement
- Build 3D models and renders for internal reviews, vendor communication, and design validation
- Assist with CMF exploration - material studies, finish samples, and colour direction across product categories
- Prepare presentation decks, design documentation, and spec sheets for stakeholder reviews
- Support prototyping efforts: 3D print prep, model finishing, and evaluation of vendor samples
- Conduct competitive teardowns and trend research across consumer electronics and lifestyle categories What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field
- Available for the full 6-month duration
- Strong sketching fundamentals and the ability to communicate ideas quickly on paper
- Proficiency in Rhino or Fusion 360; rendering skills in KeyShot or Blender
- Sensitivity to form, proportion, and detail - you notice parting lines, radii, and surface transitions
- A portfolio demonstrating product design thinking from concept to resolved form (academic projects welcome)
- Bonus: exposure to CMF processes (anodizing, PVD, IMD, textures) or wearable/consumer electronics projects
What You'll Get
- Hands-on experience designing products at real retail scale - a 6-month run means you'll likely see at least one project move from concept toward production
- Mentorship from an in-house studio working across product, CMF, and packaging
- Exposure to the full journey from sketch to tooling, including vendor and factory interactions
