Product Engineer
Location: Shanghai
What are your main tasks?
- Responsible for product technical definition and process feasibility, in line with customer specification, program planning, quality and costs targets;
- Ensure that the technical convergence plan meets product quality and costs targets;
- Ensure that the technical milestone deadlines are met;
- Manage Bought Out Parts (BOP) definition and ensure technical integration of suppliers;
- Coordinate technical management of tool suppliers relying on process/tool engineers and experts;
- Follow Grammer process (PDS and GES) and guide the concept and design detail of a product, tool and/or check fixture & equipment;
- Coordinate with design engineer for CAD work, create DVP with experts and validation/testing teams, create engineering BOM;
- Establish and validate prototype control plan with prototype specialist;
- Validate product performance targets, involve critical tier 2 supplier;
- Analyze test reports and product validation parts and take in-time countermeasures to deviations;
- Lead cross functional design review meeting with proper tracking documents and records;
- Responsible to check 3D and 2D drawing (KPC, Tolerance stack-up analysis) and release it in PDM systems – Smart Team, SAP;
- Lead project DFMEA study with DFMEA moderator support;
- Support design engineer to manage design data in PDM systems- Smart Team, SAP or offline file folders, with all design changes, ECN/EWO history;
- Liaise with industrial engineer to ensure product and process characteristics are under control when production is launched;
- Interface with the customer's engineering team and obtain customer agreement on design;
- Following engineering Spec, reviewing the requirement of product and service with customer like special characters, drawing and documents;
- Support VA/VE workshop with P0 Manager;
- Support new program acquisitions;
- Support Grammer internal processes and activities support multifunctional team.
What are your qualifications?
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in mechanical Engineering field related;
- At least four years of experience in product development, with minimum three years of experience as interior trim product engineer;
- Familiar with product development activities for major OEM's;
- Working knowledge of DTS, GD&T and statistical process control;
- Needs to be familiar with the design and development of plastic parts, foaming, steel stamping and Die cast parts;
- Needs to be familiar with common manufacturing and assembly processes;
- Be familiar with new IATF/TS16949, and APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, SPC;
- Skillful in office software, familiar with Catia or UG CAD software.
- Needs to be customer-orientated (and be able to communicate directly to our customers);
- Needs to be independent and self-motivated with strong desire to success;
- Good communication skills and team player;
- Good in English, German preferred.
