SUMMARY/SCOPE
The Academic Support Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and technical support to the PA Program. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of program data, supporting the continuous self-assessment process required for accreditation, and ensuring the seamless delivery of the curriculum through expert management of educational technology platforms.
HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Management & Accreditation Support
Manage and organize program academic data (both didactic and clinical phases of the curriculum) using software programs.
Become a departmental expert in programs including but not limited to ExamSoft, Adobe ESign, MS Office, SurveyMonkey, EXXAT, CASPA, ARC-PA Portal, and Canvas.
Support the Program Director in the analysis and reporting of data for ARC-PA accreditation and curriculum evaluation.
Support program faculty examinations through delivery and proctoring.
Systematize the collection and aggregation of departmental survey data to ensure high-integrity datasets for faculty analysis and formal reporting.
Maintain secure student files and pre-matriculation databases in compliance with program and institutional privacy policies.
Admissions & Student Services
Manage pre-matriculation database for student prerequisite completion.
Participate in student admissions/interview activities and data gathering related to results.
Participate in student recruitment and retention activities including coordination of pre-matriculation communication and orientation activities for new PA students in conjunction with faculty and staff.
Academic & Curricular Operations
Communication with students, staff, and faculty regularly using the Canvas system for academic updates and needs.
Assist faculty in course preparation related to set-up & delivery.
Maintain program library and resources including supply inventory.
Provide clerical support to faculty including classroom and research endeavors.
Support departmental activities for student assessment including set-up of and participation in standardized patient assessments.
Administrative Operations
Support budget reconciliation and management for program.
Provide clerical support for faculty research and committees.
Manage departmental social media presence.
Attend required training at conferences as requested.
Daily errands on & off campus including mail collection.
Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning and Computer Skills):
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, Project Management software, Order processing systems, Student tracking databases, Adobe, Canvas, ExamSoft, the internet, texting, and social media platforms. Training can be provided on program-specific software.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred.
One to two years’ related experience and/or training required.
Must be very detail-oriented, highly organized, hard-working and efficient.
Must be able to meet deadlines and multi-task in a high-volume service area.
Must be an excellent communicator in both written and verbal forms.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a Non-Exempt/Hourly position. This hourly position requires a regular 40-hour workweek at minimum (plus occasional overtime).
Working beyond a normal 40-hour week, including evenings and weekends, is possible during peak season and/or to meet internal deadlines.
Non-Exempt/Hourly employees who work beyond 40 hours during a single work week will be compensated at time and a half, per FLSA guidelines.
Infrequent travel may be required on occasion for student recruitment events, clinical site visits, or in order to attend training workshops.
Must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable under the university liability policy.
Must be able to drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
